The Outer Edge Performance core team is among the best in the nation, each contributing unique areas of expertise ranging from education, counseling, sports psychology, exercise physiology and healthcare to corporate sales, leadership development and management. This diverse professional team allows us to create highly customized and cutting edge experiential programming for organizations, athletic teams, summer campers, students and other clients.
Mary Marcantonio
Founder & Chief Executive Officer
A native of Boulder, Colorado, Mary founded Outer Edge Performance in 2005 after more than 15 years of professional work in experiential facilitation, management and human services. She has a proven record and talent in organizational development, management and leadership, including spending a number of years developing and implementing extensive backcountry wilderness programs throughout Colorado and Utah.
Mary's passion and appreciation for the outdoors and learning began when she was introduced to the beauty and serenity of Boulder’s open space at a young age. She played collegiate basketball, is an avid cyclist and continues to pursue human-powered sports. Mary is a member of the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) and the Association for Experiential Education (AEE).
Tim Burke
Managing Partner, Chief Operating Officer
Tim is originally from Buffalo, New York, and has been designing and facilitating experiential and wilderness programs for over 10 years. He brings valuable life experience from both the corporate and non-profit sectors to Outer Edge Performance. Tim has spent more than a 1000 days in the field as an instructor and specializes in the technical application of rock, ice and ropes. He loves the outdoors and revels in the fact that one day his office is the top of Crestone Needle, and the next day it's a beautiful rock face at The Garden of the Gods.
Tim is a member of the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT), the Wilderness Education Association (WEA), the Association for Experiential Education (AEE), the Professional Climbing Instructors Association (PCIA) and the American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA). He holds professional credentials from the Professional Climbing Instructors Association (PCIA), and Wilderness Medicine Institute (WMI).
